NOLA region Membership update

Posted over 4 years ago

Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! Congrats on surviving and thriving through 2020.

I wanted to take a moment and update you guy on some NP thing going on..

1) Executive order from the Gov. is extended until Feb 10, Louisiana will remain in modified phase 2 and the Orleans parish will remain in modified phase 1.

2) Total NOLA region membership is at 301; We have had 5 renewal so far in 2021 and 6 new members!!! This is awesome!!! But in an area that has about 1000 NP's, I'd love our total number to be higher. Please encourage your NP friends (Family, Adult,  Acute care, mental health, Pediatrics and Women's health) to please join!!! New benefits to membership coming soon!!! Also we are looking to increase content of dinners ( when we can return to them) and speakers to include areas of focus other than Primary care and Family. LANP represents ALL Louisiana NP's regardless of your specialty.

3) LANP NOLA facebook page. If you have facebook, PLEASE join!!! I post at least weekly on the page about updates, jobs, volunteer opportunities and virtual meeting reminders. ONLY NOLA LANP members are allowed. There will be clean up in the coming days and if your membership is not active your will be removed from the page.

4) Member spotlight. If you known an NP who you'd like to recognize please reach out to me. We will be featuring Louisian members throughout the year.. Where they a great preceptor? Mentor?  Did they start a new job? Has an interesting side gig? Does something cool as a hobby? Volunteer in their community?   ....... Big or Small, let's get to know our colleges

5) Full Practice Authority: We are working hard to make this a permanent part of our practice, but we need YOUR help. I will be posting and asking for Volunteers to attend 30 min Zoom meeting with legislators or legisative aids. So if the meeting is for a legislator who's region you practice or live, PLEASE consider joining the meetings. These meetings are used to discuss how WE increase access to care to our communities, what an NP is, what a CPA is and how it can inhibit your employment mobility, and restrict or delay your ability to provide care. Please check out the Access to Care section on the LANP page for info on these topic

6) lastly We are hear for you!!! If you need a job, a preceptor, questions about scope of practice, Collaborative agreements. If you know of a job or are willing  and able to precept? PLEASE let me know

Wishing you all the best in 2021!!!

Hoping to see your faces in person soon!
