Spring is here and so is your update on all things GNO LANP!

Spring Raffle!!!

Membership

• Our region membership numbers as of 03/31/21 is 338!!!
• New membership benefits (can be found on the LANP web page under members-only benefits)
  • Discounted stay at 2 New Orleans area Marriott hotels (discount good through 12/2021)
  • $10 discount on your annual AANP membership
  • 10% discount with APEA for all of your education, CEU and resource needs
  • Free CEU in the quarterly newsletter, due to come out next week
  • Free monthly CEU via statewide zoom meeting (next is April 5th: COVID vaccine Fact vs Fiction) Please register on the LANP web page; nonmembers may attend for a fee
• Membership tiers:
  • Student membership: $50/year. You must be actively enrolled in a Master or Doctoral Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife program and in good standings with your university)
  • Career Starter: $75 for 1 year. You must be in the 1st year after the graduation of a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife
  • Regular member: $125/year: Actively practicing Nurse Practitioners and Certified Midwives
    • Automatic renew Regular membership $120/year
  • Retired: $35/year: nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives who have retired from active practice. The member must have a retired APRNlicense with LSBN, to be eligible for this membership
    • Automatic renew of Retired membership $30/year
  • LIFETIME membership: $2000.00
    • Offered to commemorate LANP’s 30th anniversary (offer expires 12/31/21)
    • Includes all the regular membership perks and benefits; PLUS a lifetime member Pin, a banner for your badge at all future in person conference; recognition at conference and quarterly newsletter; and a certificate of lifetime membership
    • You NEVER have to RENEW again!!!
    • Open to all Louisiana licensed Nurse Practitioners or Midwives
  • Health Policy:
    • We will be presenting a bill in the coming legislative session for full practice authority
      • The goal of this bill is to improve access to care to all of our communities
      • Please visit the advocacy link on lanp.org and become a member of the LANP health policy Facebook page to find out how you can help educate our legislators.
    • Region specific meetings:
      • March was GREAT!!! We had 2 in person meetings!!!
      • April: tentative dates are April 22 (HIV management) and April 29 (IV antibiotic); waiting on confirmation from the reps to send out invites.
        • PLEASE only register for 1 meeting; if spots become available to the second, I will send an email and open registration to ALL active members even if you attended the other meeting.
      • May: tentative dates are May 5 (excessive sleepiness in OA, Open to PC, Pulmonary and Neur ONLY) and May 13 (PHTN, CE opportunity); again, waiting on confirmation from reps to send out invites
      • June: tentative dates June 2nd (Ubrelvy)  and June 24th ( Oncology basics in Primary Care)
      • If you have reps visit your office, PLEASE get their card and pass on information to me or Jake. We are looking to expand our meeting topics so that we can meet everyone’s interest and specialty
