PLEASE ACT NOW ON HB 495!

Good morning!

I hope this email finds you all doing well. Once again I am emailing about HB 495 and asking (begging) for your help. As most of you know, HB 495 passed through the Senate Health and Welfare Committee by a narrow margin of 4 yays and 3 nays. Hopefully, the bill will go to the Senate floor this week ( possibly Wednesday).

I am asking each of you to PLEASE go to http://www.accesstocarela.org/ and email AND call your senators NOW. I am also asking each of you to ask your family, friends, and patients to email and call their senators as well. If we are to increase access to care for our patients and reduce barriers to our practice, we desperately need all hands on deck!

There is a real possibility that this bill will die in the Senate if YOU fail to act now!

There are over 6,000 NPs in the state of Louisiana and only about 1,500 are members of their professional organization. If you are an LANP member, please encourage those you work with who may not be members to email their senator AND to become a LANP member. Remember, LANP represents all NPs in the state of Louisiana. As your Greater New Orleans representative, I will continue to fight for each of you as well as your patients.
