Greater New Orleans Region

Good Bye 2022 and Hello 2023

Posted over 2 years ago

2022 has been a great year for our region! Our Goals for 2023 are based on growth. Growth in Mebership numbers. Growing our region's presence in legislative efforts and growing relationships with Legislators. And, growing our community presence and advocacy!

We finished out 2022 at 393 members!!! For the last 2 years the goal has been 400  members and we are Oh so close!!!

The break down of membership teirs as follows:

263 regular ( greater than 1st year of practice)

4 lifetime

13 Career Starter (the 1st year after graduation)

 3 Retired

103 Student NPs

7 Associate ( RNs, CNM, CNS, CRNA, Educators, NPs from other states)

With about 1100 practicing NPs in this area we are only at about 24% representation. Please help us grow this representation to at least 30%!

How do we get there, you ask? We get there as a group effort. We need you to maintain active membership ( consider lifetime or automatic renew). We need students to continue membership after graduation as they transition to practice. We need new members! Please reach out to your colleges/classmates and encourage them to join.  Remember there is power in numbers.

Growing our community presence will help show what we do. Please join us at volunteer events, help us collect items for our 2023 community service project. And if you think of an opportunity for our group, please share it!! This is how we show our communities that we support them and who we are.

Health Policy and PAC support. Growing relationships with the legislators of our region, gives us the opportunity to educate them on what we do for thier constituants and how much of an integral part of healthcare we are. Michelle and I cannot reach all of them, so we are asking your help to grow these relationships! PAC needs our monitary help to grown and support the campaigns of legislators who are NP supporters. How do we do that, by signing up for monthly or recurring contributions to PAC! If just 10 members signed up for $25 a month, that would add $3000 to our yearly PAC funds. As 2022 closes our PAC fund has about $10,000, which is GREAT, but remains small in comparison to the reported almost $130,000 of the Louisians Physicican Group. Please consider contributing to growth in 2023:  https://lanppac.givingfuel.com/pac-giving-campaign

Lastly please take the time to complete the survey emailed out earlier this month. It is your opportunity to give suggestions, tell us what we are lacking and what we can do better to meet your needs as a NP or Np student. Your answers and participation helps LANP grow to serve you best
